Hot Air Balloons

Ezra and I had our first experience air ballooning it was so much fun!

Bronson was our pilot-he was so nice to take us up.

A look in side!

Filling up the Balloon.

Ezra was so excited to get up there!

Ezra and I at 8,000 ft!

Awsome views!

Everyone in the family got a ride in the balloon!

We ended up bringing the balloon down in some random lady's yard- she was kind of confused why there was an 80 foot balloon in her front yard. Her little girl came running to her and told her there was a crash!

This is what happens when Ezra pilots the air balloon.

We had such a fun time- Who knows, there could be more ballooning in the future.

Halloween!

We had a very fun Halloween spent down in Utah.

Karlie made her own costume. Can you guess what she is........a jelly fish. She's the cutest jelly fish with braces that I've ever seen!

Little Brother Nathan did an excellent job on his paper mache monster!

Mom was a very cute/scary witch.

Ezra was a cow, I couldn't get him to stop mooing. Although I must say they sounded pretty authentic.

I was an artist, but most people thought I was french.

We have finally figured out what we are going to do after graduation

Ezra is going to pose like this little Chinese man and I am going to paint him into hiding...... all day every day!

We are turning into pigs around here!

People are getting the swine and non-swine versions of the flu right and left. Last week in my classes there might have been maybe one or two people gone. This week only half the class is showing up.

I went in my watercolor class today and saw two people sitting there, I thought class had been cancled or something.

I guess my compulsive hand sanitizing is starting to pay off. I am one of the few survivors.

Praise Purell!

Ezra's Accident Anniversary

Ezra was pretty out of it the whole time he was in the hospital and even for a few weeks after he got to come home. And when I say out of it I'm referring to the mental functions of his brain. Anyway I wrote down some of the funny/random things he said during his recovery. The nurses that took care of him had some pretty good laughs and so did I.

"If I could just get rid of this headache I could enjoy my stay”

"Jess can you steal me some Excedrin this metaphine stuff aint workin (he meant morphine)

"I took a bath when I was 3-7 or 3-14”

"absentee ballot for northern California”

“entiempo" every once in a while he'd throw out a spanish word

“get me out" Ezra had to be strapped down because he kept trying to escape his hospital bed

"liquid blue windshield washer fluid"

"they took me to get a skat skan”

The nurse asked him "do you know where you are?" he replied "where I am with what?"

"I gave you a green paper”

"I need to get my braids straight" (referring to his IV and oxygen tubes)

"why would I say that to a horse?"

"why does it fling so bad"

The nurses would always ask Ez questions when they came to take care of him . They asked him "what's your Birthday?" he replied "George Bushes birthday ends December
31st"

They also asked him what year it was, he wouldn't respond so they kept asking him finally he got mad and said "freak dude I don't know!"

Luckily he knew who I was when they asked him.

He also made several attempts to pull out his catheter after days of trying he finally succeeded.

Yesterday was the anniversary of Ezra's accident. I couldn't help thinking about how glad I am that he's not dead, paralyzed, or brain damaged. I know some of you might debate that last point ( ;

I am so thankful that Heavenly Father let me spend another wonderful year with my best friend. We have been so blessed! Ezra has almost completely regained his sense of smell and taste (his only lasting effects after cracking his skull and bruising his brain. So many miracles happened, I just can't say enough about how blessed we have been.

Looking back on his accident I have truly realized what a great blessing it is to be part of such a wonderful church. We were the recipients of so much love and support. We truly felt the power of the many prayers offered on our behalf. I know that Heavenly Father never leaves us in our times of trial, he stays right by our side. I remember the incredible sense of peace I felt, in a time when I should have been feeling scared and unsure, I only felt calm.

Trials really can turn into blessings. We can learn so much from the hardships we go through. My Grandma Taylor once wrote "each day is a precious gift." I truly believe this, I'm trying to do better to treat each day as a "precious gift" given from a loving Heavenly Father.

The Outfit

This is Ezra, eating a popsicle, out in his parents bean/corn field. The outfit he is sporting was one I saw all to often this summer. Being almost completely uninhibited does present it's problems- hence the boot-short combo. Although the mini blizzard we had earlier this week wasn't exactly welcomed. I am glad for the cold weather.... it means I wont have to see this outfit for a few months.

For my media experiment class we had to do a photo rendering. I have spent a lot of time painting latley. I have 4 studio classes this semester, I basically eat sleep and breath art. It's been really fun! By the time I get home I'm covered in paint, clay, and charcoal. Ezra says that I look like a nerd because I'm always caringing my big black art bag. But it's okay--I like to be an art nerd. And I have made a bunch of art nerd friends, we sniff the paint fumes together.

Ward Greeters!

We received a call this morning asking that we come to church early to speak with the Bishop. We figured we'd be getting callings. I told Ezra that we would be called as the ward greeters, he said no way! Guess who was right!

Anyway we are pretty excited, is there a better calling? I think not. We started today, Ezra kept saying "welcome to walmart" as everybody walked in. So we might be getting another call from the Bishop.

Back in the Berg

Just before school started Ezra and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary- I can't believe it's been two years already! We had a wonderful day spent in good ol Salt Lake City. I am so thankful for Ezra he is such a good husband and my constant source of entretainment. What would I do with out you?

I keep finding myself saying little good-byes to all the flowers. I pass flower gardens on my way to class and it kind of makes me sad because I know their fate. A chill is already in the air, and here in Rexburg we just kind of skip fall and head straight for winter. But it's good to be back- it's my last year and I just want to enjoy it because I know I'm gonna miss it when I leave. I love it here I feel so blessed to go to school here at BYU-I-Da-Ho. Ezra is in his last semester and will do an internship winter semester. Anyway we're all settled in our new apartment- and trying to get get back into school mode after a fun filled summer.

The Oregon Coast

My family recently took an RV trip along the Oregon Coast it was one of our funnest vacations yet!
I could not believe how beautiful and blue crater lake was. It's one of the deepest in the world!

This is a cute little moth I just had to take a picture of- it kept landing in every one's hair.

The first day in the RV was the longest drive. When we saw this slide we decided to stop and play at this cute little park. That's me and Ez on the slide, Kristina's the one in the front picking her wedgie.

Inside the RV: all 10 of us fit just fine. You'd think by the end of a week we'd be sick of each other but we weren't.

This is us stuck in an elevator with 20 people- no joke!

If people aren't staring at us cuz we're freakishly tall, they stare at us because we're weird. We had a few spectators for this pic. We were just trying to figure out our wingspans.

It's not a real vacation without ice cream!

Have you ever seen so many cute bums? (we were looking for jelly fish)

We stopped at a ton of really fun little beach spots- you can't beat the beach!

The vegetation was beautiful!

So were the sea lions.

We were thinking about diving in.

A jump roper made out of kelp- works pretty well. Ezra was especially fascinated by kelp- in fact he might come up with some sort of kelp business.

For part of the trip it was foggy. It made every thing look mysterious.

The tide pools were way fun- I was trying to pick up a star fish.

Kinda gross but kinda cute.

There are a ton of light houses along the coast.

We went on this really awesome nature trail- I swear it felt like we were in the jungle.

It was on this very trail that my mom.... startled herself, started running, tripped over a tree root, lunged toward me, and pulled down my pants. I was laughing to hard to be embarrassed.

I was trying to climb onto this little bridge from a lower one and couldn't quite make it over- Ezra was just helping me out.

The aquarium was so fun!

I just had to take a picture of this. Poor dog!

Ezra listening to a seashell.

Their all crazy- that water was freazing!

Our favorite past time was playing frisbe on the beach.

He just couldn't resist.

Ezra loved going to the air museum.

I'm tellin ya taking pictures out of a moving RV is risky business.

Tubing=fun....yeah!

Playing basketball can get dangerous with this group- Ezra got so sweaty. In this picture I was summoning the ball. My team lost, probably my fault.....sorry team.

I think this is one of the sea lions that woke us up with his barking at 5 in the morning.

Funny Story: This cute little Chinese guy was reaching down to try and touch the fish at the hatchery. Next thing you know---kerplunk, and you hear him saying "OH my glasses.....my glasses" Patrick volunteered to go in after them.....what a nice guy- the cute little Chinese family thought so too.

All in all a highly recommended vacation!
